Units of Study
Al Hadi units of study integrate Islam into a multi-disciplinary study plan. These units provide a variety of resources and activities to pull each child's mind, body, heart, and spirit into the area of study. Stories, artifacts, anecdotes, videos, explorations, hikes, movement, songs, arts, and crafts are some of the tools that coaches use to provide a robust learning experience.

Stories, artifacts, anecdotes, videos, explorations, hikes, movement, songs, arts, and crafts are some of the tools that coaches use to provide a robust learning experience. During these in-depth investigations, children will create a body of work that culminates with an integrated project presenting all that they've learned over the course of the unit.
Throughout this process, students research, write, draw, paint, and read. We, at Al Hadi, believe that unit studies are a wonderful way to approach holistic learning. They give the learning coach a comfortable environment in which children of different levels, ages, and learning styles can be nurtured in their learning journeys.
Co-op - Microschool - Group Schooling
There is a growing movement of Muslim families schooling together. Often families will homeschool in small groups or come together to create a hybrid of a private Islamic school and homeschool. Our units are designed to cater both individual families and larger school groups.
Your co-op, microschool, or group must purchase a physical or PDF copy of the unit for each of the families you serve. The administrator is required to verify purchases for each family and distribute to each of the families. Once each family has a copy of the unit, your co-op, microschool, or group may make as many copies of the lessons or handouts as you like. Lastly, we encourage your co-op, microschool, or group to schedule a 20 min complimentary consultation with our curriculum developers to provide an overview of the unit and answer questions you may have related to it.

In this unit, your family will examine how people, in the past and present, adapt to life without the modern conveniences we currently enjoy. You will learn ways that technology has impacted our world. In addition, your family will practice being grateful to Allah (swt) for these bounties through prayer, reflection, and service.

Autumn's Beauty
This unit explores the sciencce behind the coming of autumn as well as the global events and cultural traditions that mark this change. Gratitude to Allah swt for the amanat (trust) of this Earth, observation of and reflection upon the natural world, and environmental stewardship are also heavily emphasized throughout this unit.

Our units integrate science, social studies, writing, reading, health, physical education, art, and math. It should be noted that learning for some subjects, such as Math, Reading, Writing are sequential and are more skills-based. While we include reading, writing and math activities in many of our units, we encourage parents to purchase separate Math, Reading, and Writing curriculums. If you need help in selecting additional curriculums that fit your family's learning goals, consider scheduling a consultation.
Each unit of study is designed to be taught in six weeks. There are many ways to use this unit. You can complete a lesson each week; you can extend the lessons throughout a span of several months, or you can pick and choose from the lessons and activities in the guide. The possibilities are endless.
Each unit provides six weeks worth of lesson plans. A list of materials and directions are provided for each activity, from read alouds and Qur'anic reflections to hands-on experiments. We also provide a Book List and a few how-to guides.
It depends on the age of your children. Lessons are designed so that you can complete them within an hour and a half on any given day. However, additional readings and activities can be done to extend the lessons.
Each unit is unique in topic and the subjects explored vary by unit but used in totality, our units offer a well-rounded education that meets Common Core national standards.

The choice is yours! Different concepts are covered in each of the units. One unit may focus more on science while another may focus more on social studies.
Our units incorporate multiple read-alouds. We recommend browsing your local library for literature related to the topic. A book list is included in the unit guide with the name of the literature, however, if certain books are hard to come by, you are welcome to replace the recommended book with something similar. Many of the read-alouds can be found on YouTube. You can view them in order to find an appropriate replacement.
